Another strength of GMO Epsilon is its thorough security measures. It holds a number of highly trusted security certifications for protecting customer information, including PCI DSS, Privacy Mark, and ISMS/ISO27001.
Benefits of Using GMO Epsilon
GMO Epsilon offers many benefits. Here, we explain the benefits of using GMO Epsilon.
Set up a wide range of payment methods at once, so you rarely miss a sale
GMO Epsilon lets you set up a wide range of payment methods all at once — not just credit cards and convenience-store payment, but also PayPay, buy-now-pay-later, cash on delivery, and more. Because you can avoid cart abandonment caused by not offering a customer's preferred payment method, you're less likely to miss out on sales to highly motivated buyers.
Affordable pricing makes it accessible even for budget-conscious merchants
With GMO Epsilon, you can set up a wide range of payment methods at once with no setup fee and no transaction processing fee. With other payment processing services, it's not uncommon to be charged a setup fee for screening and building the payment environment, or a transaction processing fee for each payment's processing and communication costs.
While monthly fees and payment processing fees do apply, having no setup fee or transaction processing fee keeps overall costs low. This makes it accessible even for merchants with a limited budget.

Optional services help you run a smoother online store
GMO Epsilon also offers a variety of optional services, such as the "Early Payout Service," "installment/revolving payment," and "chargeback guarantee service." Using these options lets you offer customers a more secure and comfortable shopping experience. Some features also help with cash flow and marketing, so taking advantage of the options can help you run your online store more smoothly.
Handle customer personal information with peace of mind
GMO Epsilon holds certifications such as the international security standard PCI DSS and the Privacy Mark, both of which demonstrate that personal information is being properly managed.
Even for an online store handling important customer personal information, you can continue operating without major concerns about a data leak.
Drawbacks of Using GMO Epsilon
Here are the drawbacks of GMO Epsilon.
Each pricing plan only includes a limited set of payment methods
GMO Epsilon has three pricing plans — Beginner, Standard, and Premium — and signing up gives you free use of the payment methods and optional services included in that plan. However, even with the top-tier plan, signing up alone doesn't give you access to every payment method GMO Epsilon offers.
To add a payment method not included in your plan's set, an additional monthly fee and payment processing fee apply. Keep in mind that simply signing up for a pricing plan doesn't give you access to every payment method GMO Epsilon has available.
Mobile carrier billing is available to corporations only
GMO Epsilon's mobile carrier billing is available to corporations only. If you're running your online store as a sole proprietor, you cannot add mobile carrier billing through GMO Epsilon.
Some other payment processing services let both individuals and corporations add mobile carrier billing, so if you're running your online store as a sole proprietor, we recommend considering another service.

If you want to keep costs as low as possible, the Beginner Plan — which covers the minimum required features — is recommended. If you want access to popular payment methods ranging from credit cards to PayPay, or want a lower credit card fee than the Beginner Plan, the Standard Plan is recommended.
If your online store's sales are growing and fees are becoming a significant burden, choosing the Premium Plan — which has the lowest credit card fee — is a good option.
Using a payment service or optional service not included in your plan's set incurs an additional cost. Be sure to check the fees carefully before using them.
