Shopify Flow Actions List | All 107 Native Shopify Actions at a Glance

Tsunライターチーム

A Shopify Flow action is the final step that defines "what to do" within a workflow. It carries out a concrete task against the targets detected by a trigger and filtered by a condition. By turning routine work such as order management, customer tagging, and inventory adjustments that used to be done manually into actions, you improve the precision of your operations and free up merchants to focus on more creative strategic planning.

This article covers every native Shopify action available in Shopify Flow, along with practical use case ideas for each one.

* Based on action data displayed within workflows as of May 2026.
* Actions from external apps are not covered here.

Data Retrieval & API Integration Actions

Send Admin API Request

An action that lets you make a wide range of changes to the store using Shopify's GraphQL Admin API. Mutations not natively offered by Flow are also available, and the data returned after execution can be used in later steps.

💡 Use case idea: Perform complex bulk updates to product data that aren't supported by standard actions, or execute custom mutations provided by a specific app. For example, use it to automatically adjust the "compare-at price" of every variant when a specific "cost (purchase price)" metafield is updated, dynamically preserving margin.

⚙️ Name in Flow: Send Admin API request

🔗 Official documentation: https://help.shopify.com/ja/manual/shopify-flow/reference/actions/send-admin-api-request

Send HTTP Request

An action that connects the workflow to a web server or URL and sends an HTTP request to integrate with an external service. It supports the major HTTP methods — GET, POST, PATCH, and more — enabling data to be sent to (or retrieved from) an external CRM or your own in-house core system.

💡 Use case idea: When an order occurs, push the order information in real time to an external shipping-management system or your own inventory-management server. You can also manage API keys securely using the secrets feature, enabling advanced operations such as sending sales trends to an external BI tool.

⚠️ Specification: Available only on the Shopify Plus, Advanced, or Grow plan

⚙️ Name in Flow: Send HTTP request

🔗 Official documentation: https://help.shopify.com/ja/manual/shopify-flow/reference/actions/send-http-request

Get Analytics Data

An action that uses ShopifyQL to retrieve store analytics data (sales amount, session count, conversion rate, and more) within a workflow. Because the query result can be used as a variable in later actions or condition branches, you can build advanced automation flows that respond to changes in your data.

💡 Use case idea:
Use it for initiatives tied to real-time analytics figures, such as automatically sending a Slack or email alert when sales fall below a specific threshold compared to the previous day, or automatically tagging a product and sending an announcement email the moment it hits a sales milestone (e.g., 100 units sold in total).

⚙️ Name in Flow: Get analytics data

🔗 Official documentation: https://help.shopify.com/ja/manual/shopify-flow/reference/actions/get-analytics-data

Points to Watch When Implementing Actions

Infinite Workflow Loops

When using an update-type action such as "Update product status" or "Add customer tags," watch out for an "infinite loop" where the action itself fires the same trigger again (e.g., a product-updated trigger). To avoid this, always insert a condition step and set up a guardrail such as "only run if the status hasn't already been updated."

Data Retrieval Limits

"Get ... data" actions have a limit of 100 resources per request. Also, a list processed by a "For each" action can contain at most 1,000 items. When building a workflow that targets every product in a large store, you'll need to design your query to narrow the target down, or split the work into multiple runs.

By combining the actions introduced in this guide to fit your own business model (D2C, B2B, omnichannel, and more), you can dramatically cut operational costs while delivering an advanced, customer-centric ecommerce experience. Start by automating just one routine task, and build up reliable results from there.
