For ecommerce sites run on Shopify, quickly checking and responding to new orders is essential. This guide explains how to use Shopify Flow to automate order notifications to Slack. With this setup, a notification is sent to the person in charge in real time every time an order comes in, helping improve operational efficiency.
What Is Shopify Flow
Shopify Flow is an automation tool provided by Shopify that helps streamline various tasks involved in running an online store. It's mainly used to automate everyday tasks such as inventory management, order processing, and customer support.
It was originally available only on the Shopify Plus plan, but a 2023 update made it available starting from the Basic plan as well.
The blog post below covers Shopify Flow in detail. Please use it as a reference.

This automation offers the following benefits:
- Prevents missed orders
- Enables fast order confirmation and processing

- Cuts down on manual checking by staff
After setting this up, it's a good idea to place a test order to confirm the notification arrives correctly. You can also customize the notification message content as needed.
