Shopify Flow is Shopify's own app that automates a wide range of tasks and processes that arise in store operations. Previously, it was only available on premium plans, but since July 2023 it has also become available starting from the Basic plan. Shopify Flow can be installed for free from the Shopify App Store.

How to Add a Customer Tag When a Specific Product Is Purchased
In this section, we'll show you how to set up a workflow that automatically adds a customer tag of your choice whenever a specific product is purchased.
Step 1: Create a Workflow

(1) Open the Shopify Flow app
(2) Click "Create Workflow" on the workflow list page

(3) Select "Order created" as the trigger
Using "Order created" allows the workflow to run whenever a new order is placed.
(4) For the condition, select "Order > LineItems_item > name"

(5) For Name, choose "contains" and enter the product name
With this setting, the following action will run whenever the order's line items include the product name specified in (5).

(6) For the action, select "Add customer tags"
(7) In Tags, enter the customer tag you want to add automatically
With this setting, the customer tag specified in (7) will be added to the buyer.
(8) Give the workflow any name you like
(9) Click "Turn on workflow"
Step 2: Check That It Works
Place an actual order for the target product and check whether the customer tag has been added to the buyer.

This setup is also almost the same as the workflow and settings described in [How to Add a Customer Tag When a Specific Product Is Purchased] above.
![In [Step 1, (4) and (5)], select 'order > lineitems > product > collections > handle' for the condition and enter the collection's handle ID in Handle](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0611/3542/1693/files/image_2_c0376417-701a-4ac9-a4b0-b224b848a3a3.png?v=1739251825)
