We have changed the timing of the check process as follows.
What Changed
Before
- On cart operations (when adding to or removing from the cart)
- On checkout operations
- On checkout completion
After
- On checkout operations
- On checkout completion
Reason for the Change
1. Addressing the issue where products outside the selling period could not be removed from the cart
Due to the specifications of Shopify's Cart and Checkout Validation API, it was not possible to distinguish between "adding to cart" and "removing from cart," so the restriction was also applied when removing items, causing an issue where products outside their selling period could not be removed from the cart.
2. Because products outside the selling period are designed to be unable to be added to the cart
This app hides the Add to Cart button for products outside their selling period. For this reason, we determined that a check on cart changes was unnecessary.
3. Because orders can be reliably blocked at checkout
Even if a product outside its selling period is added to the cart due to a third-party app or code modification, the purchase can still be blocked on the checkout page. Since the checkout page is always passed through in the purchase flow, this provides sufficient restriction.
