We've added a feature to Payment Rules that lets you choose a display mode for payment methods. Previously, only the "Hide specified payment methods" setting was available, but with this update, you can now use the "Show only specified payment methods" setting.
Two Display Modes
You can choose from the following two display modes.
- Hide specified payment methods: Hides the specified payment methods at checkout. (Default)
- Show only specified payment methods: Shows only the specified payment methods at checkout and hides all others.
Example Use Cases
Combine with Shipping Methods
You can differentiate payment methods based on the shipping method, such as "show only bank transfer when Nekopos shipping is selected."
Combine with Customer Tags
You can restrict which payment methods are available to specific customer segments, such as "show invoice payment (net terms) only to B2B customers with the 'wholesale' tag, and hide it from all other customers."
If you only want to keep one or two payment methods available, the "Show only" mode — where you specify just the methods you want to show — is easier to set up than specifying each of the many payment methods you want to hide.
Fail-Safe Behavior
If none of the payment methods specified in "Show only" mode are actually present at checkout, there is a risk that all payment methods would be hidden, preventing customers from completing their purchase. To prevent this, if applying the rule would result in all payment methods being hidden, the rule is not applied and the payment methods are displayed as-is. You can use this feature with confidence.
Existing Rules Remain Unchanged
・All previously created payment rules will continue to operate as "Hide," as before. No changes or re-creation of settings are required.
・The default value when creating a new rule is also "Hide."
Please give it a try from the Payment Rules settings screen.
