Thank you for using RuffRuff Order Limits. We've fixed a bug that was occurring on the rule detail page, and would like to share the details below.
What happened
Opening a rule with a target set to a collection built using Shopify's new collection model (introduced in July 2026) — for example, a collection that includes only some of a product's variants — could trigger an "Unexpected Application Error" on the rule's detail page.
Impact
Affected rules' detail pages could not be opened, making it impossible to view or edit their settings. The order-limit check itself was not affected and continued to function normally.
Resolution
We've released an update to support the latest Shopify API version, which resolves this issue. No action is required from store owners.
Please note
Shopify's new collection model allows a collection to include only a subset of a product's variants. When such a collection is set as a target, the order-limit check itself works correctly, but the storefront-facing product message and quantity picker will apply to all variants of that product — not just the ones included in the collection. This is a limitation on Shopify's side, and we've already submitted an improvement request to Shopify. Please keep this in mind if you use partial-variant collections in your rules.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you for your continued use of RuffRuff Order Limits.
