What is the Shopify app "GO SUB"?

GO SUB is a subscription management app developed by GO RIDE Inc., a Shopify Plus Partner, and it has earned Shopify's "Built for Shopify" certification. In addition to an easy-to-use UI from a development team based in Japan, it fully supports the "multilingual and multi-currency" capabilities essential for global sales. A flexible pricing structure you can start on with no monthly fee, together with external integrations such as Shopify Flow, supports businesses broadly from launch through the growth stage.
Features of GO SUB
Start with no monthly fee! Flexible pricing that scales with your growth

With the "Starter Plan," which has no monthly fee, you can start subscriptions with no risk, paying only a 2% fee on the order amount. When the number of contracts grows, switching to a fixed monthly plan (from $39) makes the transaction fee free, delivering a substantial cost advantage even compared with other companies' apps.
Extensive subscription settings that solve complex requirements too

It supports a wide variety of subscription models, including flexible discount settings, specified order cycles, and a minimum number of purchases.
It also offers a wealth of features, including a subscription box feature that lets customers freely choose the products they like, a lump-sum payment feature that lets them pay for multiple orders all at once, notification email customization, and display of content that discourages cancellation.
App and system integrations are easy, too

You can use it with RuffRuff 予約販売 without conflicts. Integrations with Shopify Flow, warehouse management systems (WMS), and rewards apps are smooth as well, and they strongly support automating and streamlining back-office work.
Cross-border e-commerce with peace of mind! Full support for multiple languages and currencies
Japanese and English are supported as standard not only in the Shopify admin and the support system, but also on the storefront that customers see (other languages can be configured too). It supports display and order creation in major currencies around the world, and by providing a smooth purchasing experience in the local currency, it helps drive global expansion.
All features are available regardless of the app plan!
With GO SUB, every store can use all features, whether it is on the Starter Plan (no monthly fee; transaction fee only) or a monthly plan (no transaction fee).
You never need to subscribe to a higher plan in order to get sufficient features.
Recommended for businesses and stores like these
Because it offers a Starter Plan with no fixed monthly fee, it is recommended for anyone who wants to start selling subscriptions on Shopify while keeping costs and risk down. Once the number of contracts grows, you can switch to a monthly plan.
It also supports cross-border e-commerce, so it is recommended for stores that are looking ahead to global expansion overseas and that require multilingual and multi-currency support.
Recommended features of GO SUB
Adding and configuring a wide range of subscription options

Easily add subscription options to existing product pages and customize them.
- Register subscription cycles (weekly, every 2 months, and so on)
- Set discount rates (for example, 10% off every month, ¥500 off every 2 months, and so on)
- Set a first-order-only discount
- Subscription box feature
- Lump-sum payment feature (pay 3 months of subscription fees together)
etc…
A full-featured customer account page

There is a lot customers can do themselves on their account page, and they can easily change the details.
- Specify and change the delivery date and time and the shipping plan
- Change credit card information
- Change the shipping address
- Change products and product options
- Change the order quantity
- Change the subscription cycle
- Order now button (the customer changes the next order creation date to the earliest possible date)
- Cancel, pause, and resume the contract
etc…
Customizable notification settings and sender-change settings

A wide variety of notification types are available. You can also customize the content and change the sender email address.
Every store can use this, regardless of plan.
Feature for adding products outside the subscription

Some customers want to add an extra product, just this once, to their next subscription order. To meet that request, the app includes a feature for adding products outside the subscription.
It is especially useful when someone wants to buy only one inexpensive item, but shipping would be charged for a single item. You can use it as a solution for shoppers who would give up on the purchase if they had to pay for shipping.
Useful for marketing! Customizable customer tag and order tag settings

You can set which tags are added when a subscription order is placed. In addition to standard tags, you can set custom tags that combine elements.
For example, if you set a tag that combines the product name and status, you can create a tag such as "goSub-active-coffee" and use it to create segments and later in marketing automation tools.
GO SUB pricing plans

We offer a Starter Plan you can start on with no fixed monthly fee and a 2% fee, and plans that charge only a monthly fee with no transaction fee. You can choose according to your scale.
How to set up GO SUB
Step 1: Create a subscription plan group and plans
Set the subscription plans you will sell.
You can configure details such as the order cycle, discount rate, and minimum number of purchases.
Step 2: Theme settings
Add app blocks to the product page and the account page on the storefront.
The settings up to this point are required. Once you finish them, you can start selling subscriptions.

GO SUB also provides tutorial videos. Subscription app settings tend to get complicated, but you can follow the steps and configure the app while watching the videos.
You can view the video library from here.
Step 3: Notification settings
From here on, these are additional settings: features that are worth configuring as you operate.
Basic notifications are configured by default. You can freely customize the text and style to match your store settings and more.
Both code editing and rich text editing are supported. Changes to the sender email address, which is essential for branding, are also accepted.
Step 4: Customer account page settings
On the customer account page, you can finely control how much customers themselves can manage their subscriptions.
Specifically, you can configure details such as whether skipping and pausing are allowed, whether customers can change products and product quantities, and whether they can change the delivery cycle (plan).
Step 5: App block color settings and text change settings

You can change the color of the app blocks placed on the product page and the account page. You are free to specify colors that match your store's tone.
You can also change the display text. For example, you can change a label that says "Subscription" by default to something like "Value subscription delivery."
The story and behind the scenes of app development
What we focus on most in app development
Feature development based on voices from the field. The environment surrounding subscription businesses changes every day, and the features that are required are becoming more diverse.
We focus on reflecting the feedback we receive from merchants who are using the app or considering it in our day-to-day updates, as features that help their actual businesses.
Future plans for the app and what we want to take on
We aim to be an app that, for merchants, "keeps the cost burden low and includes every feature they need."
In subscription businesses, fees tend to squeeze profits, but we will keep taking on the challenge of building a service that maintains low pricing while still providing enough features to fit each business model.
