About setup

Differences between Online Store 2.0 theme and Vintage theme in this app.

There are the following 2 differences

1. Differences in how to add apps to a theme

Online Store 2.0 theme requires the addition of an app block.
Vintage theme requires the activation of an app embed.

2. Difference in the display position of the table of contents

Online Store 2.0 theme can use all three of the following

• Specify in theme editor
• Above the first heading
• Specify class name

Vintage theme can only use the following two

• Above the first heading
• Specify class name

Finally, please note that the Vintage theme will be difficult to maintain in the future.

How to add an app to the Online Store 2.0 theme's blog posts.

If you would like to add an app from the Shopify admin screen, please refer to the following.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. Find the theme that you want to edit, and then click Customize.
3. Navigate to the blog post page.
4. Click Add section or Add block..
5. From the drop-down menu, in the Apps section, select the app named ’Table of Contents’ to add to the page or click the Search bar and enter some text to search through your installed apps.
6. Optional: move the app section to the place you want it on the page, and customize the block using any available settings.
7. Click Save.

If you would like to add an app from the Shopify admin screen, please refer to the following.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. Find the theme that you want to edit, and then click Customize.
3. Click App embeds.
4. Select an app app block named ’Article (Vintage theme)’
5. Beside the app embed that you want to activate, click the toggle to activate it.

The app named 'Table of Contents' does not show up on the theme editor.

There are 3 possible causes.

(1) It is not an  Online Store 2.0 theme.

Vintage theme requires the activation of an app embed.

(2) It is not the template of Blog posts, Products and Pages.

This app only supports the above templates. Please access the above templates.

(3) Not a Regular plan

The Products and Pages templates are only compatible with the Regular plan. If you wish to add an app to this template, please upgrade to Regular plan.

If this does not solve the problem, please contact us.

Unable to access the Blog posts template

This may be due to the fact that none of the published blog posts exist.

Please create a blog post with a published status and check again.

If this does not solve the problem, please contact us.

I added a 'Table of Contents' app in the theme editor, but the table of contents is not displayed.

There are 3 possible causes.

(1) There is no heading in the article to be used for the table of contents.

Insert the headings you have set up in the "RuffRuff Table of Contents Creator" into the article and check again.

(2) the status of "RuffRuff Table of Contents" is set to "Disabled".

Go to the application settings page of "RuffRuff Table of Contents" and activate the status.

(3) The state of the "Table of Contents" application in the Theme Editor is "disabled".

Please check if the "eye icon" in the "Table of Contents" app in the Theme Editor is grayed out.

If this does not solve the problem, please contact us.

About customize the table of contents

When clicking on the table of contents, the transition position is a little off.

There are 3 possible causes.

(1) Header is off by the height of the header.

Please use 'scroll offset' to adjust the transition position.

(2) Use Lazy Load for images, etc., and use lazy loading.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We are sorry, but we cannot solve this problem with the current specifications of the application.

We cannot solve this problem with the current application specifications. You will need to stop 'Lazy Load' or allow the transition position to be shifted.

(3)The theme itself has its own scrolling code.

We may be able to handle this issue, so please contact us first.

Please understand that we may request permission to access your Shopify store.

Changed settings are not reflected in the table of contents.

Due to the cache function in Shopify itself, it may take some time to be reflected.

Please give it some time and check again.

I want to make the background of the table of contents transparent.

Although there is no function to make the background of the table of contents transparent, it is possible to achieve pseudo-transparency by setting the same color as the background color of the theme you wish to insert as the background of the table of contents.

I want to show/hide the table of contents.

The show/hide button in the Table of Contents is available on Light plan.

I want to display only a part of the table of contents.

Initial Display Lines' allows you to set the number of lines in the table of contents that users will see when they visit your site.

'Initial Display Lines' is available on Light plan.

I want to hide the brand (RuffRuff App by Tsun).

Brand hiding is available from the Light plan

You can hide it by checking the 'Hide RuffRuff App by Tsun' checkbox on the 'Customize the table of contents' page.

• All features of the Free plan
• Hiding of brands (hiding of RuffRuff App by Tsun)
• Open/close button functionality in the table of contents
• Partial display of the table of contents.

What can the Regular plan do?

It will be able to do the following.

• All features of Light plan
• Display of the table of contents on collections
• Display of the table of contents on products
• Display of the table of contents on pages
